| Description, including signature and date |
| The cross and tools in this bottle are mostly painted white. The figure of Jesus is carved; his eyes and mouth are painted or drawn with heavy pencil. Two figures, no more than pegs with heads, "dressed" in red cloth, stand on either side of the cross on the bottom with sad faces. A nicely lettered sign with "I.N.R.I." is mortised into the cross at the top. The bottle is very old, mid-nineteenth century, but the contents may not date from the same period. |
