Description, including signature and date
This bottle contains a structure of heavy and thin arms radiating from a central shaft. The heavy square arms are wound with blue and white thread. Pastel silk tassles hang from the thin arms. The stopper, which extends the height of the bottle by 4 3/4", is a large ball-in-cage topped with a cross, varnished to the color of walnut. At the top of the cross is the date 1878 on both sides, as well as on both sides of the locking bar. The bottom is signed Harrison Shinck Jan 10th 1878 Louisville Ky."
