| This large flask came from Lebanon, PA, and depicts the crucifixion with two levels. On top are the crosses and tools. The figures are drawn on paper. The lower level has two guards made of wood and painted blue, with spears. A large sign reads "Jesus Our Savour [sic] May 2th [sic] 1894 Made by John S. Bender." There was a John S. Bender, a furnace worker, in the 1900 census living not far from Lebanon, but there is no way to know if he was the man who made this bottle. | |||
